You Love Poon

Poon was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He started DJing at the age of 16. In college he graduated from radio broadcasting, which led to the start of his career in radio and the promotions. He gained his 5 years of experience at I Heart Radio.

In 2010 Poon moved to New York City to grow as a person and to pursue his dreams. His passion for music landed him as a resident DJ in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He shortly began to organize his own club events. After spinning in the club scene and building a network for a few years, he was able to land a few bigger gigs.

He then worked with companies like MTV, Nickelodeon, Wild n’ Out, Meta, Adidas, Nike, Nordstrom and many more. He has also spun in various cities for festivals like, SXSW, Outside lands & GovBall.

His major performances include DJing for Ronny Chieng’s “Hope You Get Rich Tour,” and with Jin the Emcee for the Metamoon Festival at the Barclay’s Center.

Poon has also donated his talents to support the Asian American Pacific Islander Community. Working with Welcome to Chinatown, APEX for youth and other organizations.

He has been involved in social media marketing, promotions and event coordinating. His creativity shows in his graphics, videography and photography while maintaining a small clothing brand too.

Poon continues to follow his dreams and passion for music, event planning and the community. His main goal is to gain as much experience as possible and to inspire along the way.
